CD Cover design, poster design and zine design
This is a CD packaging series and zine design for four different kinds of sounds from Beijing. The CDs include sounds of architecture, people's chatting, a specific word, and traffic. These four sounds represent the daily life of Beijing, and these sound are invisible witness to Beijing as well. This project will deliver a message of beauty in Beijing that people ignore, these visualized sound
are from hundreds of years history and local customs, and transforms to patterns on the CD covers.

I combined photography, typography together on the CD covers. The "Zhong" cover includes photos of the Belltower, a famous ancient architecture in Beijing. The bell rings hourly—the sound accompanies everyone who passes by. The "Traffic" cover represents the heavy traffic in Beijing. The repeating word "DU" means the continuing car horns on the road. The "You" cover contains the most representative word in Beijing, which is "Nin"--a respectful calling of "You." The "Chat" cover records greetings and slang from Beijing.
